Travel theme: International Women’s Day

Ailsa’s travel theme this week is all about celebrating International Women’s Day on Friday 8th March. Click here to see the other entries.

I spent Friday with an incredibly strong and vibrant women, my good friend Geri. When I first decided to take part in the YMCA Sleep Easy Challenge 2013, I honestly expected to be doing it on my own. I was blown away when Geri offered to come along with me, and it reminded me once again how lucky I am to have such good friends in my life.

This post is for all my girls.

Some of you I’ve known for years,

others for just a couple of weeks.

But you have all played a part in getting me to where I am today.

You’ve inspired me to travel, to blog and to live my life to the fullest.

Free in the Grand Canyon, No 1 on my Bucket List since I was a small child

You’ve been there through the good times, and the bad,

Malcolm and I with some fellow travel buddies in New York

and you’ve taught me that being a ‘girl’ doesn’t stop me from doing things (including being a ski technician!).

To my girls – I love you all.

And to all the other women out there – my hope is that you are as lucky as I am and you have some strong sisters around you too.
