When I saw that this week’s photo challenge is to take a shot in the ‘golden hour’, the first and last hour of sunlight of the day, there was only one place I thought about.
I’ve been fortunate to travel to a lot of places in the world, and on the way I’ve witnessed lots of sunrises and sunsets. My favourite by far is the sunset at Whitesands in West Wales.
What really amazes me about this landscape is the effect that it has. When I took this photo, I was travelling with my friend, her two young nephews and our godson. Camping with three boisterous boys is pretty much loud all the time. Watching this sunset, however, was the one time on the whole weekend that they all stopped and stood quietly for a few minutes. Only for a few minutes, mind. They were soon back to tearing up the beach again 🙂

It’s a lovely spot. Gorgeous photo.
Sorry, I only just read your comment because for some reason it got sent to my spam folder! Thanks as always 🙂
Haha! I’m obviously dead meat 😉
By the looks of it quite a few people have been having the same problem. We’ll have to keep an eye on our spam boxes!
so beautiful.
Thanks. I’d love to be able to walk the whole of the Wales coastal path one day because there are some really pretty areas 🙂
A beautiful sunset, for sure.
It is isn’t it? I take a photo of it everytime I go there – I have a whole collection of them now! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Wow! A truly stunning photograph
Thanks Sarah 🙂
