If you’ve ever read my blog before, you’ll know that I love graffiti and street art. The above example adorns the side of a building next to our community garden. In my opinion it is most defintely a masterpiece.
Although I am very artistic myself, I’m no good at working on big pieces like this. It’s the animator in me – I’m used to working on a really, really small scale 🙂
This is my entry in the Weekly Photo Challenge: Masterpiece. Click here to see other masterpieces.
I always find graffiti very interesting, I haven’t seen the above before. My one regret is that I didn’t get a photograph of the ‘wall’ in Verona near the balcony – the one with the writing. Maybe next time 😉
I try to remember to always carry a camera with me so I don’t miss any photo op. There’s always new artwork springing up in our neighbourhood 🙂
I do that now. The last time we visited Verona was before the days of digital! Couldn’t afford the picture. How times have changed….
That is crazy good street art… a real masterpiece..
It’s great isn’t it? It’s location is appropriate at the moment as well. It’s right next to a community that has recently closed and we are trying to get reopened. Without the community centre, the local kids have lost somewhere to play, join in groups and hold their birthday parties.
I hope you have success.. Community centers are vital in a neighbourhood.
Thanks, I’m hoping to post some pictures about some of the activities going on in the area soon 🙂
I’m always amazed at graffiti on such a grand scale. I too tip my hats to these artists. They’re no different than those whose works are displayed in famous museums. Money doesn’t make for great art. My daughter would agree…she’s a career dancer…a “starving artist,” and thoroughly happy with her life. 🙂
That’s the best way to be, thanks for stopping by 🙂
